Hello and Welcome

Yoga You Can Trust

"I am committed to sharing this joy with others, encouraging them to find strength, stillness and peace through yoga."

I have been practising Iyengar Yoga for 22 years and I have been teaching for over 11 years. I am certified to teach level 3 Iyengar Yoga Asana and Pranayama. I have spent over 5 years in training for assessment, I am continuing my training.

I was one of the teachers selected for a pilot scheme to teach remedial yoga to people with Long Covid. This project was conducted for 10 weeks in late 2021.

I have completed 2 years of a 5 year Therapy training course at IYIMV in London with Stephanie Quirk and whilst I am still training to be qualified in teaching Therapy, I am able to help and facilitate your practice of yoga with most health issues. I am qualified to teach existing students through pregnancy. I am certified to teach one to one.

The Iyengar® assessment system is rigorous, teachers do not pass simply because they have paid to train! Many Iyengar Yoga teachers have passed and failed one or more times and most find that the training and subsequent assessments lead to knowledge and clarity in teaching. We see the training process as a learning process which exceeds the desire for a pass mark. Our system is renowned for excellency in teaching, The IY (UK) is responsible for maintaining standards of teaching of Iyengar yoga.

The International Iyengar® Mark, seen here below, is a symbol of excellence and authenticity. Only certified teachers teach genuine Iyengar yoga. All of ours hold the Iyengar Yoga Teachers Certification Mark, a sign of excellence, clarity and depth of understanding. To use this logo, they have to be properly trained and maintain their development.

I first started Yoga for stress and was amazed to see that the strength, stability and flexibility I gained in my physical body and brought the same to my mind!

The sanctuary I find within my practice enables me to live a happier more fulfilled life on a psychological and physical level. I am committed to sharing this joy with others encouraging them to find strength, stillness and peace through yoga.

The last 18 months has been challenging and has changed our lives, for some of us, some changes are longstanding, I am indebted and grateful for the practice of  Iyengar Yoga, the work and teachings of the Iyengar Family.

I have been fortunate to have been able to study and train with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. I continue to study with the Iyengar family, and with Senior and Advanced teachers in the Iyengar system.
